Body Boarding

Bodyboarding is much like wave riding (sometimes called Boogieboarding) where the average board consists of a small, rectangular piece of hydrodynamic foam. The board can be shaped and adapted to different riding styles as well as to the size of rider. So in all essences, it’s flexible. Bodyboarding has been growing rapidly and getting increased recognition over the last couple of decades and has now developed into one of the fastest growing water sports in the world.
Body boards were initially made from wood or fiberglass and foam, and were referred to as ‘paipo boards’ (pronounced PIPE-OH). Paipos are made from wood and do not have fins, but fiberglass/foam boards usually do have fins.
