Velas Beach | Maharashtra
Velas Beach
Velas, situated around 210 kilometers from Bombay, is a comparatively smaller beach, being only a round about 2 kilometers in length. There’s a creek that divides Velas from Diveagar, and here, between the creeks, you’ll find a solitary, lonely island abounding in seagulls. This quiet, virgin beach is replete with white, grainy sands, dead corals lining its shore, marine turtles and plenty of crabs loitering around forming coconut tree formations.
This is a good beach for you to go body boarding because the surf’s always up here! Swimming here is also relatively safe between two rocky outcrops and there are a couple good areas in and around Velas for trekking, so, there’s something to keep you on your toes at all times. All very lazy, but that’s just what this secluded beach is about.
